We accept submissions from individuals, organizations and businesses based in Calgary and surrounding area. We are currently updating our submission guidelines and look forward to accepting new submissions soon (estimate March 2026). In the meantime, please contact us here if you have any questions about joining the Community Activation Catalogue or RISE UP’s other work.
This initiative invites individuals and organizations to propose creative projects, events and programs that will transform existing venues and spaces in the downtown area with the support of the RISE UP Downtown Vibrancy Program. We have the opportunity to reimagine downtown and how our community connects. We believe arts and culture are at the heart of our city’s vibrancy, and when we make opportunities for artists to create, magic happens!
The Community Activation Catalogue is supported by the RISE UP Executive Committee, with representation from Calgary Arts Development (CADA), Calgary Economic Development (CED), Calgary Hotel Association, Calgary Tourism, and the City of Calgary. Together, these partners are investing time, expertise, and visibility to strengthen connections between Calgary’s arts and culture community and event, conference, and tourism sectors.
The call is for local artists, performers, presenters, venues, and community groups! We went on the search for partners—local venues, groups or individual performers and presenters —who can produce, program and provide live arts entertainment and/or experiences to local audiences.
It’s free. If your submission meets the criteria for inclusion, then it becomes part of the Community Activation Catalogue and receives RISE UP Calgary promotional support at no cost to you.
We do the work to get your offerings in front of professional event planners and conference organizers who are actively seeking locally rooted, high-quality arts and cultural experiences. The Catalogue helps remove common barriers to visibility, particularly for new or less traditional offerings, by creating a trusted, centralized resource that planners can return to again and again.
By submitting your experience, you become part of a collective effort to showcase Calgary’s creative talent, strengthen the local arts and culture economy, and shape how visitors and residents experience the city. It’s an opportunity to increase exposure, build new relationships, and contribute to a growing network that values and invests in local creative work.
