Road to Carnival is a six-month community event series that celebrates Caribbean culture, creativity, and connection through art, music, history and storytelling. From May to October, a monthly activation will highlight a different artistic expression (i.e., listening parties, art installations, dance and drumming workshops, panel discussions, and cultural showcases).
Each event will feature local artists, DJs, and cultural practitioners. The series aims to create an inclusive and vibrant space for Calgarians to experience Caribbean heritage while supporting emerging and established Black and Caribbean artists.
Presented by Island Algoriddim, Calgary’s next-generation Caribbean arts collective, led by Kamika Bianca Guerra-Walker, D’on Duncan, and Shemar Herbert.
